About Operator Lee Johnson
Born and raised in South Carolina, Johnson was familiar with Chick-fil-A’s quality food and outstanding service but it was not until hearing Founder S. Truett Cathy speak while attending the University of South Carolina, where he took a deeper look at the company’s vision and values. After earning a master’s in international hospitality and tourism management in 2009, Johnson pursued his interest in Chick-fil-A by first working for three years in business operations at his local restaurant. He was then accepted into the corporate leadership development program, traveling across the country for four years to open and manage Chick-fil-A restaurants.
Johnson knew the brand fit his desire and passion for leadership, community service and entrepreneurial goals and applied to become an Operator. Becoming a Chick-fil-A Operator is no small feat with the company receiving some 40,000 applications yearly for approximately 100 franchise opportunities. In 2016, Johnson’s dream was realized when he was awarded the Hulen Mall location in Fort Worth where his hard work earned him Chick-fil-A’s Rookie of the Year for the Southwest Region in 2017.
Although raised in South Carolina, Texas has quickly earned his heart as that is not only where he first served as an Operator but also where he met his future wife, Meghan, while both working on a Dallas grand opening, The Johnson family look forward to serving the Terrell community at its first Chick-fil-A location.
“I am excited to bring Chick-fil-A to the people in Terrell and be an integral part of the community,” said Johnson. “I am committed to developing my Team Members as together we provide a remarkable experience to our guests, who become part of our family, and inspire people to continue taking good care of each other.”
