(ROYSE CITY, TX – March 11, 2019) The Royse City Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Whataburger, Unit 1110 in Royse City, is among 22 restaurants advancing as a WhataGames Finalist and competing for their chance to score $5,000 in cash, plus bragging rights for the next two years.

ABOUT WHATAGAMES
Every other year, Family Members from Whataburger restaurants across the company come together to compete in WhataGames, three days of intense competition.
- For three full days in Houston, these teams will be put to the ultimate test in a variety of events that test company knowledge, leadership skills and behaviors.
- Only three will be named Champions, and only one will win Gold.
- While in Houston, Whataburger is temporarily closing two restaurants; one to simulate an action-packed lunch rush and the other to showcase maintenance techs repairing restaurant equipment.
- Judges are checking order accuracy with an eagle eye, even measuring fry servings down to the last ounce.
- The overall prize pool totals more than $250,000, with winners taking home $5,000 in cash. Members of the Silver team rake in $2,500 and Bronze finalists earn $1,000. Team members who stay home to keep the restaurants up and running also receive cash prizes.
- Check out the competition on Instagram using #WhataGames and follow Whataburger on Snapchat, @WhataburgerLife, for real-time, behind-the-scenes footage from March 27-30.
“For Whataburger employees, known as Family Members, WhataGames is a really big deal. There is a lot of orange-and-white energy around the games, and it’s exciting for us to get to watch our team compete,” said Whataburger Franchisee John Heiman. “We wouldn’t have made it to this point without the support from our friends and neighbors in Royse City and hope they’ll cheer for us as we move on to compete at the next level.”
