(ROCKWALL, TX — March 26, 2019) Team 1296, Full Metal Jackets, of Rockwall High School attended the STEM Advocacy Conference of Texas (SACOT) and were also recognized for their work for STEM Gals by state representatives.

The SACOT event, held on Feb. 18, was attended by EVP of Public Relations Hannah Cowgill, VP of Robotic Construction Joshua Sadler, and rookie team member Austin Taylor. The team had the opportunity to meet with State Representatives Steve Allison and Trent Ashby about the importance of STEM funding, the lack of STEM workers, and their initiatives to try to fill that gap with initiatives like STEM Gals. After a long day, the team was able to talk with other teams about STEM and ways we can all help to improve the world we live in.
