Rockwall Girl Scouts Create Video, Blue Ribbons to Raise Awareness About Child Abuse

(ROCKWALL, TX – April 2, 2019) Girl Scout Troop 7780 is a proud advocate for the Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County. In addition to making this video, they made hundreds of blue ribbons to help spread the word about child abuse awareness and prevention throughout the month of April. They challenge the community to #GoBlueforKids by wearing a blue ribbon every day throughout April! A crowd gathered at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in Rockwall yesterday where they were able to pick up their blue ribbons.

Patricia Mojica wrote, “These Cadette girl scouts learned the cold hard facts about child abuse, wrote their script and recorded themselves to make this video to spread awareness. I’m SUPER proud of them for moving past their shyness to make this video and take a stand against child abuse. These girl scouts also made hundreds of origami cranes last year that hang from the ceiling at the Children’s Advocacy Center. The center opened in Rockwall last February and the Director Patricia Mejia told us that the children who walk in to receive care from the CAC feel more at ease once they look up and follow the cranes down the hallway for their counseling session. We feel blessed to help in such a small way.”
