Rockwall Teen Drummer to Compete with Band at Wildflower! Festival

(April 30, 2019) Local drummer and Rockwall High School senior Kyle Gershon will play in the Wildflower! Festival Battle of the Bands with the band Fifth Phoenix on Saturday, May 18 in Richardson.

Each year, three high school bands compete for the ultimate title of Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival Battle of the Bands Winner, taking home a generous prize package including cash and much more! A qualifier round hosting up to seven bands took place prior to the festival at Six Springs Tavern in Richardson. At the judges’ and producer’s discretion, two bands were selected outright to compete in the finals at the Wildflower! Festival and two bands were selected to compete in an online fan’s choice contest for the third and final slot at the festival. The Battle of the Band Finals are held on the Wildflower! Plaza Stage on Saturday, May 18 at 4:15 PM. Battle of the Bands is supported by Guitars & Growlers. Kyle’s band, Fifth Phoenix was one of the two bands selected outright to compete.

Kyle  is also on the Rockwall High School Men’s Varsity Volleyball team,  and is a manager at the Rockwall Culver’s.  Come out on May 18and show your support for this local teen drummer.
