(ROCKWALL, TX – May 8, 2019) Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy DECA students recently competed at the DECA International Competition in Florida. Nathan Hunter (RHS), Trinity Olmstead (RHHS) and Levi Seals (RHHS) competed among 13,000 other students. Nathan Hunter was awarded on the International Stage as Winner for Best Role-Play in Business & Administration Management with “Marketing” chosen as the 2019 ICDC Competition Performance Indicator cluster!

To be awarded on the International Stage is commonly referred to as “Making stage” and is an honor that is rarely achieved.

“Nathan’s accomplishments are extraordinary,” said Dori Brown, CTE marketing teacher and DECA advisor. “I’ve taken dozens of students to ICDC years and have never experienced a student making stage.”
