(ROCKWALL, TX – May 21, 2019) Take your best shot of “The Great Outdoors” and submit it to the 2019 Photo Contest sponsored by the Rockwall County Open Space Alliance – a group of residents dedicated to helping obtain special areas of property for public amenities.

Digital entries 300dpi, 8×10 or 8×12 physical size are due beginning May 24, 2019 until the deadline, midnight June 1, 2019. Color or black and white digital images captured in Rockwall County within the last 24 months will be accepted.

President of the RCOSA Board of Directors, Nell Welborn, has established rules and regulations for the contest. There will be two divisions: Adult (age 18 and older) and Youth (ages 8-18 and still in high school); and two categories: Nature and People in Nature.

“Show how Open Space contributes to the quality of life in Rockwall County, including the effect on clean air and water, balance of wildlife, recreational activities and physical/mental well-being,” Ms. Welborn noted.

First, 2nd and 3rd place honorees and an Honorable Mention will receive a ribbon, a print of the winning entry, and winning photos will be displayed at the Rockwall County Library. Selected entries will be featured on the Alliance website, social media and other media sites with credit given to the photographer.

A special 3-judge panel will select the prize photos. Entrants must assign a title for each entry, and the photographer will remain anonymous until winners are selected.

Please go to information@rockwallosa.org to submit files and for further necessary information about the contest.
