(ROCKWALL, TX – July 3, 2019) We always say that everything we have ever done at the Rainbow Room has been because of the generosity of the community, and we are once again asking for your help.
The Rockwall Child Protective Services office on Yellow Jacket Lane will be closing soon, and our caseworkers will be housed in other counties, while land is purchased and a new office is built, which could take a year or more. This means that we need to find a new location for the Rainbow Room, so we can continue to provide diapers, hygiene items, school supplies, clothes and beds for children in crisis during this transition.
I know this is a big ask, but I am hoping that we can find someone with a heart for children who might have a space available for us to use. I have already checked with local churches, but they don’t have room. Maybe someone has an unused office space, or storage area, and could carve out a spot for us. Our current space is 12’ x 15’, but we could downsize. It would need to be climate-controlled, and we would need access during normal business hours. We need to start moving Aug 1, and be completely out of the building by Aug 15.
I hope that by sharing this far and wide, the right person who can help us will be reached. If you know of anything that is available, or someone we should contact, please let me know. Please feel free to share this with anyone who you think might be interested.
Thank you,
Carol Miskin, President, Rainbow Room of Rockwall County, 972-672-6679
