Opening Day is September 28!
(HEATH, TX – Aug. 22, 2019) The opening day for the new Heath Farmers Market presented by Heath Golf & Yacht Club and Whittle Development is Saturday, Sept. 28 at Towne Center Park behind Heath City Hall. The market will be open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. every Saturday through Nov. 30 and be followed each week by a free outdoor concert at 6 p.m.
The invitation-only market will feature a fall bounty of locally grown, fresh produce and foods, hand-crafted goods, live music and a pumpkin patch offering an irresistible scene for fall family photos. The weekly concerts will showcase some of the area’s top talent and take place on the city-owned land adjacent to Towne Center Park.
“The selection of farm-fresh produce, hand-crafted food items and goods, and musical talent that we have in this region is incredible, and our market is designed to present it all in a family-friendly atmosphere that encourages everyone to come out and shop, eat and then relax and enjoy some great music together,” said Heath Councilman Frank New, who is spearheading the Farmers Market.
“We see it as a quality of life opportunity that we hope will become another Heath community tradition,” added New. “I am grateful to Rob Whittle for his support and to the Farmers Market Committee that has worked hard to bring it all together.”
“When Frank told me about the vision he and his committee had for the market and invited our company to be the exclusive sponsor, I was immediately on board,” Whittle said. “It embraces everything that living in a small town like Heath is about, and our company is honored to be involved.”
The Farmers Market Committee is led by New and includes Jenny Timberlake Bellamy, Jason Thompson, Ryan Bierds, Wesley Keith and Mary Dichard McBride. A special thank you goes to Heath resident Heather Witherspoon, who donated her talents to design the market logo.
Entertainment, concert bands and vendors have been secured for each week of the market, but if you have questions or are interested in participating in the future, please contact Frank New at fnew@heathtx.com.
