(ROYSE CITY, TX – Oct. 23, 2019) The Rockwall High School cheerleader who jumped off a Homecoming parade float to save a choking child was honored as a Hometown Hero yesterday at the Royse City Whataburger.
Tyra was able to save the young boy who was choking on a piece of candy by performing the Heimlich maneuver.
As part of the recognition, Whataburger of Mesquite (who owns and operates the Royse City Whataburger) donated $1,000 to the charity of Tyra’s choice – the Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Texas.
