(ROCKWALL, TX – Nov. 4, 2019) Rockwall County Citizens:
As most are already aware, Rockwall County Sheriff Harold Eavenson has announced that he will retire at the end of his current term. Sheriff Eavenson has been a strong leader for Rockwall County with unparalleled integrity and dedication. His positive impact on the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office and on the state of Texas will be everlasting.
Born and raised in Rockwall County, I attended Rockwall schools, and raised my children here, as well. I have spent my entire life serving the citizens of Rockwall County in one capacity or another – starting as an EMT, a volunteer fireman for the Rockwall Fire Department for 25 years, a police officer at the Rockwall Police Department for 26 years, and now director of the Heath Department of Public Safety for the past 14 years. I have had the honor to serve as patrolman, crime prevention specialist, juvenile investigator, firearms instructor, underwater search and recovery team member, crisis response team lead, college instructor, investigative hypnotist, fire chief, and police chief.
Rockwall County is a vibrant and dynamic community still experiencing rapid growth. The citizens of Rockwall County deserve the continued presence of a sheriff who has lived a life of dedicated service and has developed trust throughout the community, and I believe that person is me. And so, it is with great reverence for the responsibility that goes with the position that I am announcing my candidacy for the office of Sheriff of Rockwall County.
I vow to continue to build upon the legacy of Sheriff Eavenson, as well as lead the county into the future. I will ensure that we provide all of the citizens of Rockwall County with a law enforcement agency that is responsive to their needs and that they can trust.
I promise to give Rockwall County citizens my every effort in reducing crime as our county grows, and I have the track record of integrity, service and leadership to accomplish this mission.
