Doug Fulwood promoted to full-time fine arts director

The Royse City Independent School District is proud to announce that Doug Fulwood has been promoted to full-time fine arts director over all K-12 fine arts programs. Since 2013, Fulwood has facilitated fine arts participation increases at all schools including the impressive doubling of the program numbers in the Mighty Bulldog Band program. There have also been notable increases in performance quality and frequency of productions since his arrival.

Taking over for Fulwood will be Jason Webb. Webb will be promoted from his current Associate Band Director position to Director of Bands for the 2020-2021 school year.  He will begin transitioning into that role during the upcoming Spring semester. Webb has been with Royse City ISD since 2014 and will continue to further the growth and development of the Mighty Bulldog Band Program.

“I am beyond excited to be elevated the role of Director of Fine Arts for RCISD.  Growing quality programs and serving our students, teachers and community is a passion of mine and I look forward to the many great educational experiences we will provide for all involved,” said Fulwood. “I am honored to be chosen and blessed to be able to serve in this capacity.  I would also like to congratulate Mr. Webb as he takes the reigns of the Mighty Bulldog Band Program. Mr. Webb has been a major player in the growth and development of the program and I have no doubt that we will continue to see amazing things out of our band program in the future!”

“There has never been a more exciting time for fine arts in Royse City ISD. Our students are outperforming their peers in all areas of our fine arts program. Mr. Fulwood is passionate about his programs and most importantly, the kids love him,” said Superintendent Kevin Worthy. “I am looking forward to watching his continued successes as he oversees all fine arts including the addition of programs at Bobby Summers Middle School. We are also so proud of Mr. Webb and can’t wait to see continued success in our marching, concert and jazz bands.”
