The Pullen Elementary School PTA Programs Committee recently sponsored the High Touch, High Tech Science Program for the 4th grade where students learned facts about gems, rocks and minerals. They uncovered the mysteries of rock formations and crystalline structures. Students learned about the areas these gems, rocks and minerals are found in.
This hands-on, in school “field trip” corresponds with the work the students have been doing in their science classes studying geology.
The High Touch, High Tech Science Program provides scientists who are trained in classroom instruction and in creating thought-provoking science experiments. Students are challenged to work together to solve problems through direct observation and manipulation of materials and equipment. Students share their ideas and participate in inquiry based discussions.
