(ROCKWALL, TX) Rockwall County Master Gardener and Bee Expert Janet Rowe will lead a class on bees and their importance in the home garden from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 3 at the Rockwall County Extension Office. The cost is $15.
This class titled “5000 Flowers –1 Bee – 1 Day” is an opportunity to learn about ways to attract bees into your yard and vegetable garden.
A bee friendly garden is important to everyone – not just those who want to keep bees for honey. You will learn secrets about pollination, including the vital service to plants bees play in helping them spread their genetics to produce more productive flowers and vegetables.
This class will also cover how bees transform nectar to honey for those interested in the honey side of bees.
As a special treat, all class attendees will enjoy a taste test of honey harvested from various crops including sunflowers.
