(ROCKWALL, TX) Join the Butterfly Workshop Saturday, Feb. 29 at the Rockwall County Library from 10 to 11:30 am sponsored by the Rockwall County Open Space Alliance and the library. The event is a great opportunity for families to learn about the official Texas insect– the King of Monarchs!
Learn about their migration patterns, their host plants and the nectar plants they eat. Kids will get to plant nectar seeds in biodegradable pots to take home – and watch them grow, then plant in their yards.
As a bonus, kids will have the opportunity to have their face painted, color butterfly pictures and review information about the Monarchs.
Last year, 30 families attended the Alliance first annual butterfly event, so don’t miss out on an even better 2020 program.
