In-Sync Exotics brings home two new rescues

(WYLIE, TX) Two exotic big cats have come to In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center in Wylie. Both cats were previously privately owned.

Zachariah, pictured above, is a 13-year-old male liger, which is a hybrid resulting when someone breeds a lion to a tiger. They typically have some physical characteristics of each parent. Upon meeting him, we noticed that Zachariah has some fairly significant mobility issues. After completing blood work and other tests to ensure that he is strong and healthy enough for anesthesia, we were then able to conduct an MRI. Results show that his brain is abnormally small, his skull is abnormally thick and he has some spinal issues. While we cannot correct those issues, with a good diet and lots of love, we have already seen significant improvement in his mobility. He enjoys going out into his grassy playground, and is learning to play with his toys!

Holiday, pictured below, is a 13-year-old beautiful white tiger, who is settling in well and is very chuffy and welcoming. He enjoys attention and toys, and exploring his new home! He does have an issue with his right eye – his eyelashes are growing toward his eye. We have treated it to make him comfortable now, and a specialist is coming out to do a more permanent repair.

In-Sync Exotics, a non-profit organization established in 2000, is dedicated to the rescue of neglected, abused, and unwanted exotic felines. American Sanctuary Association (ASA) accredited, Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) verified, and a member of Tigers in America, In-Sync Exotics provides the highest quality care for the 76 exotic animals that reside at the sanctuary.
