Rockwall Pets announces 2020 Boot Scootin’ Ball, fundraiser and silent auction

(ROCKWALL, TX – March 9, 2020) Rockwall Pets today announced a community-wide fundraising event benefiting their organization.  The 6th Annual “Boot Scootin’ Ball” will be 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at Southern Junction. Many generous people and businesses in the community have donated wonderful items for a huge silent auction, chances to win Rockwall Pets merchandise and other prizes. Southern Junction will donate a percentage of food sales to the organization as well.

“The Annual Boot Scootin’ Ball is one of our most profitable fundraisers of the year,” said Christina Arriaga, Executive Director of Rockwall Pets.  “It is a fun, family event that helps fund necessary costs for Rockwall Pets including transporting animals, veterinarian fees, pet food, supplies, and general costs for our non-profit organization. Rockwall Pets and the Rockwall community have been working together to save thousands of lives over the years.  We appreciate all of our supporters and I encourage others in our community, who may not know what we do, to come out and join us, learn about our mission, support our efforts, and have a fun night out.”

Rockwall Pets has been a community leader since 2010 by rescuing homeless dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens.  Rockwall Pets holds adoption events at the Rockwall Petco every Saturday and Sunday afternoon. They can also be found at the Rockwall Farmers Market every Saturday morning in the summer months.

The rescue group has no physical location and relies on their all-volunteer staff to house animals through their local foster program. Besides rescuing and adopting pets out locally, Rockwall Pets also has an out-of-state dog transport program with many partners across the country. These groups understand the need and want to help.  They have empty kennels and people wanting to adopt. They take dogs from Texas that would otherwise be euthanized due to shelter overcrowding.

Thanks to local adoptions and the transport program, Rockwall Pets has consistently been able to save more dogs and cats than any other rescue partner at Dallas Animal Services (DAS). DAS has the third-largest dog and cat intake in the country with approximately 40,000 animals coming into their shelter for the 2019 fiscal year. This partnership has helped DAS achieve a 90%+ live-release rate. Rockwall should be proud as a community to help provide for Rockwall Pets by donating, volunteering, fostering, supporting, and adopting through the rescue.

Rockwall Pets invites everyone to their “Boot Scootin’ Ball” on Saturday, April 18 at Southern Junction located at 5574 TX-276 in Royse City, TX 75189.  If unable to attend, please consider making a donation, volunteering, or adopting. Please check www.rockwallpets.com for more information.
