Senior Spotlight: Fern Ramos & Allison Gentry, Heath Gymnastics Co-Captains

Senior Spotlight: Fern Ramos & Allison Gentry, Heath Gymnastics Co-Captains

(ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX – March 27, 2020) The response from parents has been overwhelming as we shine the spotlight on our local graduating seniors. But this senior spotlight comes to us from Jennifer Bolli Holden, Head Coach Girl’s Gymnastics at Rockwall-Heath High School, with a very special message.

Coach Holden writes, “It breaks my heart that we didn’t get to celebrate our seniors in person at what would of been our last home meet on March 19th! I hope we do get to soon, because they deserve the recognition! These two have fearlessly lead the team and been good role models of dedication, leadership, passion, and hard work. We appreciate all the time you have sacrificed to help make our gymnastics program successful. Especially all the early morning practices for your team even when y’all were injured, tired and not feeling 100%! Thank you for being wonderful captains and being there for your teammates and coaches! We will truly miss y’all next year and wish you the best in the next chapter of your lives! We love you both!”

Fernanda Ramos, co-captain, moved to Heath her freshman year has been on varsity for 4 years. Two of those years she did Highsteppers and gymnastics! Fern is one of our top beam competitors. She is a devoted captain and teammate. She has done an amazing job leading the team with her hard work, positive attitude, and dedication. During her off period, she earned her 100 hours of community service by coming over to the middle school and helping the Cain gymnasts learn their routines and skills. Fern plans to attend Texas Tech University in the Fall and major in Pre Med. Fern would like to be a Pediatrician.

Allison Gentry, co-captain, has been in the gymnastics program since 7th grade at Cain Middle School. Allison’s parents are Beverly and the late Dr. Dan Gentry. Allison’s favorite event is Vault! As co-captain, Allison has been a good role model for her teammates! Even through losing her father at the beginning of the year and breaking her toe in the middle of season, she has shown her teammates how to fearlessly lead, sacrifice, work hard, stay positive, and never give up! Allison plans to attend Texas A&M University in the fall and major in Human Resource Development. Allison would like to one day be HR director or a Lawyer. Allison is a member of the National Honor Society and has maintained an A average throughout high school.
