Blue Ribbon News Senior Spotlight: Katie Smith, Rockwall-Heath High School

(ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX – April 28, 2020) Katie Smith, is a senior at Rockwall-Heath High School.  She attended Maurine Cain Middle School and Amy Parks-Heath Elementary School.

She has been a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (math honor society) for all of high school.

Katie has always loved animals.  She spends her time caring for animals and has accumulated over 100 hours volunteering at Rockwall Animal Shelter and shadowing a local veterinarian.

In the fall, Katie will be attending Tarleton State University in their honor’s college studying Animal Science, Pre-Veterinarian.  After college, she plans on going to Vet School to become a veterinarian for small and exotic animals.
