How COVID-19 is affecting North Texas tigers

(WYLIE, TX – April 9, 2020) First it was ‘Tiger King’, and everyone wanting to know what we thought about Joe Exotic.  Then it was the announcement of the tiger at the Bronx Zoo testing positive for the coronavirus, and everyone wanting to know if our tigers were safe.

The fact of the matter is, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Education Center right here in Wylie, TX!  Following the shelter-in-place orders in North Texas, we have had to close our gates to the public, including cancelling our much loved annual “Easter Egg Hunt”!

With gate donations, merchandise sales and tours accounting for 25% of our revenue, this has been a lion-size financial hit to our operating budget.  The Easter event historically raises approximately $20,000, which equates to our typical food budget for a single month!

Our staff and faithful volunteers are still out here every day, cleaning dens and playgrounds, preparing the food, feeding the cats and in many cases administering medicines to continue the love and compassionate care of these animals that didn’t choose to live in captivity.

We need your help!

Join us for our FB live event on Saturday, April 11, 2020 starting at 11:00 am as we give the cats their Easter eggs.  We will be serving different exotic cats every 15-20 minutes throughout the day.  You will get to experience firsthand the egg-citment of the cats getting their treats. Will they eat it, roll on it, squash it, or as Lambert did last year, just play with it?!
