Rockwall County Office of Emergency Management COVID-19 UPDATE: Broadmoor reports ninth death

From the Rockwall County Office of Emergency Management:

Another two cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by DSHS. One case is in Fate. One case is in the City of Rockwall. One person is in their 50’s. One person is in their 30’s.

We regret to inform you that another fatality has occurred at Broadmoor. To date, there are 60 COVID-19 cases in Broadmoor, 39 residents (15 recovered), 21 staff (17 recovered), and 9 fatalities.

Broadmoor administration is conducting another round of testing today and tomorrow on all residents and staff. Broadmoor now has the support of the City of Rockwall Fire Department, who has begun working with them to mitigate spread and will conduct a site assessment this week.

State Update:

DSHS tip of the day:

“Face coverings help slow the spread of coronavirus. All Texans should consider wearing a face-covering when in public places, like grocery stores and when you can’t avoid being 6 feet from others.”
