COVID-19 UDPATE: Heath DPS impacted by positive tests

(HEATH, TX – June 20, 2020) Last night it was confirmed that a DPS officer tested positive for COVID-19, exposing multiple shifts.  As a result, all officers in those shifts are now in quarantine and Heath DPS is operating at reduced capacity.

The City of Heath has mutual aid agreements with surrounding cities. So Heath citizens can still call 911 in an emergency and receive first responder service.

The remaining shift has been moved to different quarters while Heath DPS facilities are sanitized and all necessary measures are taken to ensure the safety of our officers. Contact tracing for each officer is underway. Anyone who came into contact with these officers recently will be notified. These officers were on duty Monday, June 15, and Thursday, June 18. If you think you had contact, you may direct message any additional questions.

The City of Heath thanks its partners in surrounding cities for their aid during this difficult time, and the city urges citizens to take COVID-19 seriously. Please wear a mask in public, wash and sanitize frequently, and practice social distancing.
