Rockwall Police Department warns of gift card scam

ROCKWALL, TX – June 8, 2020 – The Rockwall Police Department warns that some residents are receiving phone calls from a man claiming to be an officer with the Rockwall Police Department. The caller states that the victim has outstanding federal warrants, but that those warrants can be resolved by purchasing gift cards of a certain amount.

This is a scam.

“Please be aware that the Rockwall Police Department will NOT call you trying to get you to place money onto a gift card,” their Facebook page states.
