From the Royse City Police Department:

(ROYSE CITY, TX – June 4, 2020) In regards to the recent events and turmoil in our country, the Royse City Police Department condemns the actions of the four police officers in Minneapolis, MN that led to the death of George Floyd. We support any and all legal actions that can be taken against them.

There is a peaceful protest planned for Royse City on Saturday, June 6th at 6PM to 8PM at City Hall. The department supports the right of the people to protest. Peaceful protests that do not spread hate or violence should be celebrated not prevented. This is a basic right of every American citizen and a founding principle of our nation.

Also on Saturday, June 6th at 4:30 PM in Police Department parking lot, there is a prayer vigil being organized by city leaders and local ministers to pray for unity, healing and peace for our nation.
