ROCKWALL, TX (August 7, 2020) Rockwall Fire Department recently recognized members of Station 2, A-Shift, Driver Engineer Jacob Farrell, and Firefighter Michael Sauder with an Outstanding Unit Citation.
The Rockwall Fire Department shared on social media that on June 19, 2020, the fire department responded to a medical emergency in the 2800 block of Ridge Road.
“While en route, Ladder 2 was advised by dispatch that the patient had stopped breathing and was now unconscious. As Ladder 2 arrived on the scene, bystander CPR was in progress. The crew from Ladder 2 quickly assumed the resuscitation efforts, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Rockwall County EMS transported the patient to a local hospital. At the time of transport, the patient had a strong pulse and was breathing. The professionalism and teamwork of everyone involved saved a life that day; the patient was released from the hospital just a few short days later.”
