Rockwall Farmers Market gives back to Meals on Wheels, police department

ROCKWALL, TX (September 26, 2020) This morning at Rockwall’s final Farmers Market of the season, Claudette Hatfield and other Farmers Market committee members and volunteers, presented $5,000 checks to Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County and the Rockwall Police Department as their way of giving back to the community!

Claudette expressed thanks to the Farmers Market vendors and local shoppers for helping make this happen.

Margie Verhagen, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County, said, “Thank you so much for your support. We do everything we can to keep our seniors healthy and safe by providing nutritious meals and supportive services that they need to remain in living in their homes as long as possible.”

“On behalf of the police department, I would like to thank you guys for your generosity. I’d also like to thank the citizens of Rockwall for their support. We’re so blessed to be supported by our community and we couldn’t be more happy to call this our home,” said Officer Florance.

And speaking of Rockwall being special, Claudette pointed out to onlookers that Blue Ribbon News recently shared a story about Rockwall being named No. 4 in Money’s Best Places to Live in the U.S. (see story below).
