New spin on Rockwall Rotary’s annual Hot Rocks, honoring Scott Self

ROCKWALL, TX (Oct. 1, 2020) The Rockwall Rotary Club recently announced updates to its 34th Annual Hot Rocks Bike Race, which takes a different spin this year due to the pandemic.

The event, in honor of the late Rotarian Scott Self of Rockwall, will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 17 at the CycleBar at the Rockwall Harbor, using their stationary bikes.  Proceeds from the event provide college scholarships to graduates of Rockwall High School and Rockwall-Heath High School.

This year there will be two epic sessions – the All Out 150 at noon, a 150-minute competitive outdoor race using Cyclebar stationary bikes; and the Fun Ride at 3 p.m., which is a 60-minute non-competitive outdoor ride. And don’t forget the Donut Ride for spectators who don’t wish to race but want to participate. There is a $30 entry fee.
