Rockwall Helping Hands Annual Pink Party provides free mammograms, raises breast cancer awareness

ROCKWALL, TX – October 12, 2020 — Rockwall County Helping Hands and Willis Fine Jewelry Rockwall recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month with free mammogram screenings during their annual Pink Party Social on Oct. 1. A mammogram bus was parked outside of Willis Fine Jewelry and provided a total of 19 free screenings throughout the day.

The Pink Party for Rockwall County Helping Hands every year raises money for Breast Cancer Awareness. The funds raised from this event benefit the Health Center of Helping Hands with a concentration on women’s health. Proceeds fund mammograms, well-women exams and allow for generalized medical care for women. Financial contributions help provide early detection and prevention of breast cancer in the underserved population in your community.

Since October 2012, the generosity of the community has helped fund $230,000 in care for breast cancer and women’s health.

“A lot of people may not realize that there is a tremendous amount of need in this community,” said Rockwall Helping Hands President Jon Bailey. “There are between 20,000-25,000 women who don’t have health insurance, and therefore have no way to determine whether or not they have breast cancer. That’s why events like this are important.”

Willis Fine Jewelry donated several beautiful items to the Pink Party Raffle. Congrats to the following winners:

Kathy Howe – Yael Design amethyst pendant
Gary Freedman- Vahan bracelet
Ramon Garcia – Ladies Tag Heuer watch
Simon Farrah  – Hearts on Fire diamond necklace
