Training set for Feb. 13 and 20

ROCKWALL, TX – November 25, 2020 – Do you want to help your community in times of need? EastTex Regional CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is looking for new members who want to make a difference and help their community in a times of need.

CERT is an organization through FEMA to help train and organize communities at the local level to help during disasters. They are sponsored by the Rockwall County Office of Emergency Management, and are an all-volunteer organization that helps local law enforcement, fire, and emergency management when disasters strike, missing person searches, and public event support.

They have over 200 active members and serve Rockwall, Hunt, Kaufman, Collin, and Van Zandt Counties and the Town of Sunnyvale.  They would like to invite you to their next training class from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, February 13 and 20, at Rockwall Presbyterian Church.

This is a FREE two day class that will teach you many preparedness tips to help protect your family as well as the basic skills needed by all ETRC members. Although not required, you can choose to be an active member of our deployment team and be put on our call out list for when we have emergencies. If you have any questions, feel free to call the number on the website.  All volunteers must go through a criminal background check.  Ages 14 and over can take the class, but you must be 18 to join the active callout team.
