Brookshire, City of Fate breaks ground on new FRESH by Brookshire’s store

FATE, TX – December 9, 2020 – City of Fate and Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) officials joined today to celebrate the groundbreaking for the company’s new FRESH by Brookshire’s store located in Fate. Fate City Council attended the ceremony along with BGC representatives Chairman and CEO Brad Brookshire and Chief Operating Officer Trent Brookshire.

“After a truly unprecedented year, we cannot think of a better way to end 2020 than breaking ground on our new FRESH by Brookshire’s store which brings us a step closer to serving the Fate community,” said Trent Brookshire, Chief Operating Officer for BGC. “We look forward to serving the Fate community while they shop, dine, taste and explore with FRESH next year. This store will be dedicated to exploring the wonders of food and will have something for the whole family to enjoy.”

Located at the intersection of Interstate 30 and Memorial Parkway, the 66,000-square-foot store will become the company’s second location under its FRESH by Brookshire’s brand and will create approximately 200 jobs for the Fate community. The store is expected to be completed in late 2021.

The original concept store opened in Tyler, Texas in 2011 and continues to evolve as a favorite destination in East Texas for an extraordinary shopping experience with vast culinary and wine selections, along with special events and entertainment for the entire family.

The current FRESH location in Tyler features dozens of chef-prepared entrees, authentic Japanese ramen and Vietnamese pho counters, a taco bar, brick-oven Neapolitan-style pizza, an artisan bakery, dry-aged beef, full-service meat and seafood counter, a charcuterie and cheese selections, fresh produce with a large variety of organics, a full-service floral shop, a gourmet coffee bar, hand-crafted gelato, patio dining, outdoor café, live music, and on-site parks with children’s playgrounds. FRESH by Brookshire’s offers food varieties and shopping experiences unlike any other.

BGC is a regional family-owned grocery business that employs close to 16,000 individuals throughout Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. The company operates more than 180 stores under the Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, FRESH by Brookshire’s and Spring Market banners, along with three distribution centers and a corporate office.
