Reinhardt Elementary students close the book on non-fiction writing units

ROCKWALL, TX – Dec. 15, 2020 – Reinhardt Elementary 2nd, 4th and 5th graders recently wrapped up their non-fiction writing units with a celebration.  Second graders learned about “Animals that Scare Us” like bats, sharks, spiders and gila monsters.  They used books as well as PebbleGo to find information on their chosen animal and then compiled the information into a book complete with text features.

Fourth graders were asked to choose an informational topic that they felt they could teach someone else about.  They organized their information into chapters and included graphics, surveys and interviews which added more personal information to their writing.  They also celebrated by sharing their books with their classmates.  They were able to read their classmates books and leave positive and encouraging comments for them.

Fifth graders were asked to choose an informational topic that they wanted to learn more about.  They researched their topic and then used google docs as well as Book Creator to develop their final product.
