ROCKWALL, TX – Jan. 9, 2020 – Congratulations goes out to the Rockwall ISD Council of PTAs Arts in Education Reflections winners whose entries have advanced to the state level.
PTA’s Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life. The arts are important for developing well-rounded kids, and we have an opportunity to inspire them to find their voice and perhaps try something new. This program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
This year, students were encouraged to create an artistic representation of the theme, “I Matter Because…”. For those who may not know, this arts program is focused on positive recognition rather than competition and has 6 categories in which to enter: dance, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.
“We have so many talented kids in our school district! We saw some amazing entries this year and are so proud of all of the students!” said Debra Axum, Rockwall ISD Council of PTAs, Arts in Education Chair.
