Open letter to citizens of Fate from Mayor-Elect David Billings

FATE, TX – February 20, 2021 – Dear City of Fate team members, I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU!

Our city faced another serious challenge, which impacted thousands of fellow Texans, and each of you stepped-up to the challenge.

You responded to every situation with grace and humility. In a world where we talk about servant leadership, you have demonstrated extraordinary servant leadership in the last few days.

From responding to service calls late at night, working with Oncor and Farmers Electric Co-op to restore power, providing Mutual Aid to Royce City, having great communication with our citizens and doing wellness checks on our fellow neighbors, these are just a small sampling of the actions you took this week. Thank you!

I believe we live in the best city in Texas and we have the best city team members in Rockwall County and our state.

Once again, thank you for your servant hearts, your willingness to serve the City of Fate, and more importantly, your service to our fellow neighbors.
