Registration underway for Rockwall Citizen Fire Academy

ROCKWALL, TX – February 25, 2021 – The Rockwall Fire Department’s Citizens Fire Academy will start March 18, 2021 and run through May 27, 2021. Class will meet on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Fire Station #2, 920 Rockwall Parkway, plus one full Saturday. Tuition is free.

This is an opportunity for those who reside or work in the City of Rockwall who want to know more about their fire department, including an insiders’ look at firefighter training involving structural firefighting, fire investigations, fire prevention and hands-on experience in emergency operations.

You will get to ‘ride-out’ on emergency calls with firefighters, rappel from 75′ in the air, climb a 100′ ladder and feel what it is like to be inside of a burning building!

Join them and learn more about the services your Rockwall Fire Department offers while increasing your fire and life safety awareness.

*As a precaution due to COVID-19, class size will be limited to only 10 recruits. They will practice social distancing and facemasks will be required*
