Registration underway for Women In Need’s Annual Glow Run 5K

ROCKWALL, TX – March 31, 2021 – Women In Need is gearing up for their “Shine a Light on Domestic Violence” GLOW Run 5K at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 8 at Harry Myers Park, presented by Title Sponsor Texas Health Hospital Rockwall. They would be honored to have your support this year.

Women In Need (WIN) serves hundreds of local families working their way through domestic violence every year. With your help, these families are not only kept safe but they are learning how to live a life free from violence. The assistance received through WIN’s crisis intervention, counseling, and support groups helps families affected by domestic violence learn how to improve their lives, become self-sustaining, and identify red flag behaviors in relationships. This empowerment enables them to break the cycle of violence so that their children can grow up safely.

This year WIN’s “Shine a Light on Domestic Violence” GLOW RUN will be focused on bringing family violence out of the dark by bringing awareness to the community about the services available to victims and families confronted with issues stemming from violence. The funds raised at this event will go directly to the Women In Need local, nonresidential services office and the clients they serve. Services provided include a 24-hour crisis line, crisis intervention, counseling, support group, legal advocacy and prevention, and prevention education programs in the schools.
