Rockwall County transitions from COVID waitlist to mass vaccination notification list

From Rockwall County Office of Emergency Management

ROCKWALL, TX – March 15, 2021 – Rockwall County is transitioning from the waitlist to a mass vaccination NOTIFICATION list. The Helping Hands/Rockwall County vaccine waitlist has been closed.

Over the next few weeks, the county will continue to utilize the original waitlist to ensure all 1A and 1B eligible individuals have the opportunity to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Now that the state has further broadened the eligibility criteria, the waitlist is not a manageable option. Instead, a notification list has been created. If you need a COVID-19 vaccine, please text the keyword “VAXROCKWALL” to 888777. After joining the Rockwall County COVID-19 Vaccine Notification List individuals will receive text notifications regarding upcoming mass vaccination operations in Rockwall County.

This list does not automatically create an appointment or guarantee a vaccine. This list is to make individuals aware of an opportunity to be vaccinated at one of the mass vaccination operations in Rockwall County.  Everyone on the notification list will be alerted at the same time. Appointment slots will be limited to the number of vaccines Rockwall County has been allocated by the state that week. The recommendation is to book an appointment as soon as a text is received. It is the individual’s responsibility to book the appointment and to ensure vaccine eligibility when an appointment is created.
