Golf tournament May 18 to benefit Rockwall-based Poiema Foundation

ROCKWALL, TX – April 23, 2021 – The Bent Tree Bible Fellowship will hold their annual golf tournament Tuesday, May 18, benefiting the Rockwall-based Poiema Foundation.

Founded 8 years ago by Rebecca Jowers, Poiema is a Rockwall-based Christian nonprofit that fights the widespread problem of human trafficking. Local police estimate there are about 400 minors being sold for sex in Dallas on any given night. The Urban Institute reports that the commercial sex industry in the Metroplex annually generates over $98 million dollars. Poiema educates the public, engages the community in the fight, and empowers survivors to “leave the life” and begin recovery through  trauma-informed care and transitional safe housing.

The golf tournament will be held at Canyon Creek Country Club in Richardson, TX. Go here to learn more and sign up >>https://app.eventcaddy.com/events/bent-tree-bible-golf-tournament-benefiting-poiema-94

Everyone is welcome to join the fight against sex trafficking by entering or sponsoring this golf tournament. The hope is a world where sexual abuse and exploitation is not tolerated and the victims are fully restored.

Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams in each flight, scramble format; longest drive and closest to the pin. Hole-in-one dontests on each par 3 ($10/hole) plus win a trip for two to Pebble Beach, Whistling Straights, St. Andrews or Pinehurst.
