Rockwall-Heath, Cain Middle School percussion ensembles score big at contest

ROCKWALL, TX – April 26, 2021 – The Rockwall-Heath High School Percussion Ensemble and Cain Middle School Percussion Ensemble recently competed in the WGI Virtual Season Group Finals in the Percussion Scholastic Concert A Class. WGI Sport of the Arts is the world’s premier organization producing indoor percussion competitions. Members of the RHHS Percussion Ensemble rehearsed for many hours during and outside of the school day, including recording sessions for the competitions. The ensemble’s video submissions were critiqued and awarded ratings by judges from around the nation.

The RHHS Percussion Ensemble ultimately advanced to WGI Finals and received the highest rating, known as “Box 5”, from both judges this weekend. Their performance can be seen here: “Memories of Honeybees” – Rockwall-Heath HS

The CMS Percussion Ensemble also advanced to WGI Finals and received a “Box 5” rating, which is the highest rating, from both judges this weekend. Their performance can be seen here: “Czars” – CMS Percussion Ensemble

Congratulations to the Mighty Hawk Band Percussionists and Cain Mustang Percussionists for their hard work and dedication.
