A Cappella Kids Camp at Rockwall High School

Register your student for the 2nd Annual A Cappella Kids Camp – July 19th – 22nd

Space is limited to 50 campers this year!

$125 check written to RHS Choir Boosters or cash submitted upon arrival at RHS on Monday, 7/19.

STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP – RHS DOOR #11 – circle drive to back entrance (faculty lot).

SHOWCASE PARKING IN FACULTY LOT OFF KYLE DR.

Students will be divided into groups prior to the first day of camp and will each work with RHS high school choir students to learn a song with choreography, microphones, and harmony parts. Each group will select performance-wear to be worn at the showcase. “Walk the Line” and “Sting” members will join them for their performances. All students will learn a group chorus closing number in addition to their song! All proceeds support the RHS A Cappella Ensembles.

Tennis camp featuring low compression red and orange balls. Players will be introduced to tennis skills, games, and fitness. The Junior Development Camp will meet the needs of a wide range of players, from beginner to advanced. Each group will be based on age and ability. These camps are led by certified professional tennis coaches as well as local high school coaches.

Experience Scouts BSA Troop 1524 at Camp

Rockwall girls ages 11 to 17 come on out to Scouts BSA GIRL Troop 1524’s camp for an afternoon of fun and food.

Meet at 2 PM at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium to caravan to the campsite. Parents are welcome to stay or come back for dinner and campfire.

 

Heath Boys Basketball Camp

Camp will include emphasis on fundamentals such as ball handling, passing, shooting and defense. Various skills contests (free throws, layups, knockout, dribble-king, etc.) for players to evaluate themselves and compete with their friends.

In-Sync Exotics Safari Camp

In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Resuce and Educational Center, located at 3430 Skyview Drive in Wylie, will host Safari Camp from Monday, June 14 through Friday, June 18, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ages 9 to 12.

Cost: $175

Includes crafts, wildlife education, pizza and movie day, and camp t-shirt, swim in a tiger pool and more. Register by June 2.

J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall – Angel Camp

Angel Camp creates an environment that allows children with special needs to explore and create with the support they require. This summer program allows kids with differing physical and intellectual handicaps the opportunity to experience typical day camp activities like archery, riflery (BBs), crafts, swimming, canoeing, group games, and more. Participants should be able to change or dress themselves with minimal assistance, and be able to use the restroom on their own.

Rockwall Bible Church VBS

Rockwall Bible Church, 801 Zion Hill Circle, will host a FREE Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon June 7 through 11 for children ages 5 to 12 years old.

The “Joseph ~ Servant to Savior”-themed program will include snacks, fun, games, songs, and crafts. The church is located off Highway 66 between John King Blvd and Hwy 3549.

Skyhawks Youth Pickleball Camp

For the last several years, the sport of pickle ball has been dubbed the “fastest growing sport in America.” One reason for its popularity is that it is a fun sport for all ages and designed for all levels of fitness. Pickleball is a combination of tennis, ping-pong and badminton that is played on a court about one-third the size of a tennis court with a net that is 34 inches high at the center using an over-sized ping pong paddle and a perforated ball similar to a wiffle ball. Let Skyhawks teach you the basics of play and the scoring system and you will fast become a fan yourself.

Summer Reading at the Rockwall County Library

Summer is coming and with it comes the fun of the 2021 Summer Reading Club at the Rockwall County Library. The theme this year is “Tails & Tales.” Children of all ages are encouraged to read and listen to favorite stories as well as to discover and explore new interests through books. In addition to reading, children are invited to enjoy the events offered at the library. All Summer Reading Club events are FREE at the Rockwall County Library.

Registration for Summer Reading Club begins June 10th at 10AM and ends July 24th;

Summer ROCK

Summer ROCK (Reaching Out, Connecting Kids) offers daily thematic arts and crafts, board games, outdoor play as well as gym activities. Field trips offered weekly during June and July including swimming at the RISD Aquatic Center. Students bring their own lunch. ROCK provides a morning and afternoon snack.
