Jurassic World Exhibition offers life-size dinosaurs, prehistoric experience for all ages

DALLAS, TX (June 22, 2021) This summer, you can get the closest you’ll ever come to a living dinosaur with Jurassic World: The Exhibition, produced in conjunction with Universal Parks and Resorts. The 20,000-square-foot walk-through experience opened to the public at The Grandscape in The Colony – located just 25 minutes north of Dallas/Fort Worth at 5752 Grandscape Blvd. – on June 18, and features life-sized dinosaurs set among richly-themed environments. My wife Julie and I had the chance for a sneak peek tour, and let me tell you – these dinos really were as close to real, live prehistoric lizards as you can get!

Our tour started off with a short ride to Isla Nublar aboard the ferry. Upon arrival to the island, a beautiful, life-like Brachiosaurus greeted us – those are the longneck dinos in case you’re unfamiliar with the name. Jurassic World handlers then introduced us to the adorable baby Ankylosaurus named Bumpy. With all its little knobs and bumps covering its armored hide, that name’s a great fit!

Our journey then took us through the Hammond Creation Lab, where we saw some baby dinos sleeping in the hatchery. I was amazed at the level of detail; the sleeping babies’ chests actually heaved in and out with each breath! Some more interactive exhibits were scattered throughout the lab, including one that allowed you to see what a baby dino incubating inside an egg.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Jurassic World without a little terrifying chaos. During our tour, Jurassic World staff were alerted that a dinosaur had escaped from its enclosure. But it wasn’t one of the gentle herbivores – it was a Tyrannosaurus Rex! Luckily the staff were able to escort us to safety with no harm done (and I got some awesome closeups of ole Rexy – score!).

Throughout the tour, I was in awe at how advanced the animatronics and technology were that brought the dinos to life. The movement and roars of the dinos provided a one-of-a-kind immersive experience everyone will enjoy!

You can journey through Jurassic World: The Exhibition starting at $29.50/person (adults age 16+) and $19.50/person for youth (ages 3-15 years). Kids ages 2 years or younger are admitted free with an accompanying parent. VIP packages, group sales packages and discounts for seniors and veterans are also available.
