ROCKWALL, TX – September 23, 2021 — The community is invited to join Rockwall County first responders on Saturday, Sept. 25 for a full day of family fun in the park – a special event to celebrate our local heroes and thank them for their service and sacrifice.
This is an opportunity for hometown heroes and their families to enjoy some friendly competition, camaraderie and fellowship with the Rockwall community, say organizers. Local realtor Sarah Naylor, physical therapist Russell Darrington, and Paul Joyner with Vivint, have been working hard to finalize plans for this inaugural event at Harry Myers Park. They hope to see this day of gratitude repeated annually each September.
“The idea for Heroes Day started out small, but with community support, has evolved into so much more. To be able to honor those who give of their lives every single day is a true blessing,” Naylor said.
Darrington added, “We hope everyone will join us at Harry Myers Park on September 25th. We plan to make Heroes Day a big deal, on a regular basis – a way to show gratitude for our Rockwall County first responders who run toward danger while we run away.”
