ROCKWALL, TX (Sept. 16, 2021) The Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office shared on social media today that they have received information that once again someone is impersonating a member of their office in a phone scam.
“The scam is a reoccurring one that attempts to obtain money from the victim by telling them they have a warrant for their arrest. The scammer will ask the victim to pay their fine over the phone using a pre-paid gift card. Law enforcement will never request payment over the phone to settle an outstanding warrant.”
