Fate DPS requests assistance in identifying a burglary of a motor vehicle suspect

ROCKWALL, TX – October 14, 2021 — On October 13, 2021, around 0725 hours, Fate DPS responded to North Smith Road in reference to a motor vehicle burglary. When officers arrived on the scene, the victim stated sometime through the night, an unknown person/persons went through her unlocked vehicle and took her purse without her permission. she advised her purse contained her passport, driver’s license, and multiple credit/debit cards. While officers were on the scene, she received text message notifications from Chase Bank advising her of fraud of $1,034.40 at the Neighborhood Walmart in Rowlett and Rockwall. Footage was obtained of the suspects.

The victim advised they also took an Apple key chain that has GPS capabilities. The device was pinging in Rowlett near Home Depot. The suspects were not located, and Home Depot reported no vehicles had been returned to their store. We confirmed that the suspects were driving a rented Home Depot truck and a silver Nissan pickup through video footage at Walmart. No identifying information was obtained from the footage of the Home Depot truck. The Nissan truck appears to be a four-door Frontier with black wheels and a front push bumper. No license plate was obtained from the footage.

The GPS tracking showed the suspects traveled to Austin, Texas, possibly stopping at a Walmart. The suspects then traveled to Manor, Texas, where they possibly stopped at another Walmart. The last location that was logged was 8801 Ingrid Drive, Elgin, Texas 78261. This is not a verified location but an approximate one at this time. Local PD is being contacted to check this location.

We are currently working with the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Department as they are also working on numerous BMV’s that occurred during the night.
