Best in DFW: Small town santuary, In-Sync Exotics, wins big awards

WYLIE, TX (Nov. 15, 2021) The votes are in, and the public has spoken! In-Sync Exotics is the Best Outdoor Activity in DFW!

In an annual contest sponsored by The Dallas Morning News, the public was asked to vote for their favorites in a variety of categories. In-Sync Exotics was up against some stiff competition, like the Dallas Arboretum and Klyde Warren Park. Located in the small town of Wylie, about an hour from Dallas, the 13-acre sanctuary boasts the Gold Outdoor Activity award for the entire DFW Metroplex!

The awards don’t stop there! Once again In-Sync Exotics has received top-rated nonprofit status from Great Nonprofits.

“The GreatNonprofits Top-Rated Awards is the one and only people’s choice award where volunteers, donors, and people served by nonprofits are asked to share stories of inspiration, express their appreciation, and potentially help nonprofits earn a spot on the prestigious GreatNonprofits Top-Rated Nonprofits List.”

Just last year the 20th Anniversary of the sanctuary’s founding was made even more special by being awarded the Wildlife Sanctuary of the Year Award from the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries!

President Vicky Keahey’s comment sums it up – “Our number one priority has always been and will always be the highest quality of care for our cats – they’re the benchmark we measure our success by. Winning these awards lets us know that others are noticing our hard work, and that feels pretty nice, too.”

In-Sync will host its annual Fowl Fling on Saturday, Nov. 27. The big cats all really enjoy getting their Cornish game hens. See their Facebook event page or our related story for details.

In-Sync Exotics, a non-profit organization established in 2000, is dedicated to the rescue of neglected, abused, and unwanted exotic felines. American Sanctuary Association (ASA) accredited, Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) verified, and a member of Tigers in America, In-Sync Exotics provides the highest quality care for the 68 exotic animals that reside at the sanctuary.
