Rockwall ISD art teacher’s ornament to represent District 33 on Texas Capitol Christmas tree

ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX (Nov. 16, 2021) Each year, members of the Texas House of Representatives are invited to select a constituent to create an ornament as a visual representation of what makes each Texas House District special.  The ornaments are hung on a Texas-grown Christmas Tree that stands in the House Chamber of the Texas Capitol during the holiday season.

This year, Rockwall ISD art teacher Amber Denton from Amy Parks-Heath Elementary School was selected by Representative Holland to paint the ornament and represent District 33.  Wiley Beth and Cullie Holland, pictured above, attend APHE.

Mrs. Denton selected a quote by Helen Keller to adorn the ornament: “Alone, we can do so little; together we can do so much.” The ornament features artwork depicting the Rockwall Harbor Lighthouse and Seawolf sailboat at sunset.

Representative Holland along with his wife Neely, will hang the ornament on the tree in Austin on Friday, December 3.
