ROCKWALL, TX (Nov. 10, 2021) The Terry Fisher Fisher American Legion Post 117 will host a Veterans Day ceremony at 8 a.m. Thursday morning at the JER Chilton YMCA at Rockwall, 1210 N. Goliad.
The Rockwall Police Department Color Guard will present the flag. Trumpeter Abraham Smith of Rockwall High School will play “The Star-Spangled Banner”.
General Thomas Kula, U.S. Army will give remarks. General Kula is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY in Civil Engineering. Prior to joining NTMWD, Tom honorably served for 32 years in the U.S. Army, retiring with the rank of Brigadier General, with his last assignment as commander of the five-state Southwestern Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Dallas, TX. Tom’s previous military assignments included leading several large organizations, strategic planning, program and project management, Chief of Staff of a major Army installation, and executive-level advisor with assignments in the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC; the Pentagon; Germany; Fort Leonard Wood, MO; and deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Light refreshments and coffee will be served.
