ROCKWALL, TX (Dec. 15, 2021) Today, I am announcing my candidacy for Rockwall County Judge.
In the last eight years the Republican controlled Rockwall County Commissioners Court has increased our county debt nearly 200 million dollars by embracing an outdated development model that increases the county’s expenses and liability exposure year after year.
Instead of continuing down the same path of building more roads and large buildings, it is time for the Commissioners Court to start preserving our county’s open spaces as a top priority. Thankfully, the Rockwall County Open Space Alliance has already done the hard work of drafting the blueprint for how to maintain our open spaces and develop them responsibly. As County Judge, I will make sure the priorities of the Open Space Alliance are on the Court’s regular meeting agendas, deliberated on publicly, and then voted on so all our county residents can see plainly where their elected officials stand.
This is going to be an exciting election at the local level that may surprise some people. There is a growing bipartisan coalition that is taking shape between local Rockwall County Democrats and disgruntled Republicans who are growing tired of having their votes taken for granted at the local level. I’m looking forward to campaigning, meeting more county residents, and being part of this new coalition of voters that will make a difference for the county.
