HEATH, TX (Dec. 29, 2021) Assistant City Manager Kevin Lasher was named 2021 Citywide Employee of the Year during the Annual Employee Awards and Christmas Luncheon held December 16 at Hidden Creek Special Events venue in Heath.
“Every staff member did a remarkable job of once again adapting and pivoting to the ongoing challenges we faced this year, including the unprecedented winter storms,” said City Manager Aretha Adams. “We did not skip many beats, thanks to the dedication of our DPS officers, public works team and staff.”
“Kevin was exceptionally instrumental in 2021 as he managed many projects including the Towne Center Overlay District planning process, while also serving as Acting City Manager during my maternity leave,” said Adams. “Historically, executive staff members are not considered for employee awards, but Kevin did such an exceptional job during my absence that I think it’s appropriate to recognize him with our organization’s highest honor.”
Lasher joined the City of Heath in 2017 as Assistant Director of Community Development. He was promoted to Director of Community Development in 2018, and Assistant City Manager in 2019. He came to Heath with experience in many communities including Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Midlothian and Burleson.
Departmental Employee of the Year awards were presented to staff members in recognition of their performances in 2021. Earning this recognition were: Tara Plexico, Chief Accountant, Administrative Services; Francisco Gonzales, Maintenance/Parks, Public Works; Brady Lance, Combination Building Inspector, Community Development; and Officer Kenny Griffith, Department of Public Safety.
Also honored was Sergeant Dallas Talley, who received the inaugural Chief’s Commendation for his exceptional service in 2021.
