Downtown Fate Block Party and opening of Food Haul Saturday

FATE, TX (Feb. 18, 2022) – Food Haul, a unique project to activate a vacant downtown Fate block, is set for its official ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. this Saturday, February 19, 2022.

The Food Haul is a collaboration of five food trucks (Smoak Town BBQ, Shayna’s Place, Rollin’ Beans Coffee Co., Mamaritas, and Taco Wasted) nestled in downtown Fate. The project is the fulfillment of many dreams of both small business owners and the city leadership team who value growing business in a sustainable and entrepreneurial environment. Over this next year, these businesses will have the opportunity to make strong connections with residents.

In the future, the City plans to develop the block, but in the meantime is activating the land and incrementally growing small businesses. The City’s goal is for the businesses to grow and expand into permanent locations in the community like their brick-and-mortar neighbors.

Fate, a small but rapidly growing community of 20,000 plus residents, has been asking City leaders for commercial development. This small but significant design is an achievable way for small businesses to break into the market. Downtown has received statewide attention for its recent downtown revitalization projects that have created a walkable destination that includes mixed-use developments with retail, restaurants, boutiques, and live-above lofts. Street and park improvements were also a part of the plans.

Three additional ribbon cuttings at Annie Lane’s Flowers, Edwards Law, and The Glam Bar will take place for businesses on Fate Main.
