Rockwall, Texas – February 18, 2022 – The City of Rockwall flag at Rockwall City Hall has been lowered to half-staff today as a sign of respect for the recent passing of former Councilmember Dr. Bob Sparks.
A lifelong resident of Rockwall, Dr. Sparks returned after medical school to join his brother and father at the “Sparks Clinic,” and he remained active in the community his entire life. Dr. Sparks served two terms on the Rockwall City Council from 1980-84.
In all, Dr. Bob practiced medicine for 46 years, serving as the team physician for Rockwall High School for 20 years, and the City Health Officer for 20 years. Dr. Bob and his brother, Dr. Randy, helped form the ambulance service in Rockwall, and with a handful of others, they were both founders of Lake Pointe Medical Center.
